New Audio Player

Dancing Astronauters,

We are no longer allowing downloads for the premiere releases. Since we’ve grown large, copyright has become an issue and we have decided to go the route of working with the record labels. Now that our new audio player no longer has a download function, we will be able to post all the major releases again that everybody loves. The Dancing Astronaut team is hard at work behind the scenes and we have some exciting stuff coming in the future.

    Well, I´ll be looking for another site like this then! This sucks bigtime. I can no longer see why I should visit the site, when I get the same features visiting Beatport directly. Why sell out? I can understad the trouble labels are making, but DancingAstronaut totally lost its most imporant feature when you guys stopped posting zippyshare links, or orginally removing song from your own server… Thanx for everything and goodbye!

    I'm sorry you're disappointed but we “sold” out so that the anti-piracy agency that was talking to us wouldn't sue us for copyright infringement. Does Beatport let you stream the full track?

    I'm actually glad to see cool blogs go “legit”. If you guys really love the music, shell out the couple of dollars to buy it. I'm not going to claim I've never downloaded a song from the internet, but I've also been shopping at online places like Beatport for years and years, and am very happy to be able to support the artists/labels I love.

    Anyway, just wanted to leave a positive comment, because you guys first and foremost help me stay in touch with good music, and that's all these blogs really should be.

    It's great that this site can keep working without any problem with record labels :-), I should mention though that the new player doesn't work on any mobile device without Flash.

    That´s not my point.. You know as well as me that beatport doesnt let you stream the whole track… Beatport offers news about hot tracks and lets you hear it. I visited DA to find and download music I could use! I dont have the money to buy all my music, so DB was the perfect solution….

    Of course I understand why you guys did ut, I´m simply saying it sucks, because I enjoyed it so much. Does anybody know of similar blogs that still host songs they publish?

    If you're here to just download the songs you like, you're not supposed to be here. This site shows a lot of great tunes and if you like them, you should buy them. Not because you have to, but to support the artists who put hard work into making a good song.
