2011 Grammy’s: The Winner For Best Remixed Dance Recording Is…DavidGuetta 0

Let me be honest with you. Usually I could care less about who wins a Grammy or who performs at the Grammy awards. However, in 2011 I finally watched a snippet of the entire ceremony. The only thing that interested me (and I bet you found interesting as well) was who would win the Grammy for ‘Best Remixed Dance Recording’. The nominated artists were Morgan Page, David Guetta & Afrojack, Axwell & Dirty South, Mike Rizzo, and Wolfgang Gartner. From my point of view I thought Axwell & Dirty South’s remix of ‘Sweet Disposition’ was going to run away with it by a mile and a half. The song was an absolute anthem, and I must have heard it in approximately 20 live sets. When the drop arrives it still gives me the chills. In an upset, the Grammy was awarded to David Guetta & Afrojack’s remix of Madonna’s ‘Revolver’. Ironically, Afrojack is not even credited on the official title for the remix. The award is a testament to how big David Guetta is in the EDM world and how much of an influence he has within it. Below, I have included the 5 nominated tracks that were up for the Grammy…who/which track do you think should have won?

Madonna – Revolver (David Guetta & Afrojack One Love Remix)…

Temper Trap – Sweet Dispostion (Axwell & Dirty South Remix)…

Nadia Ali – Fantasy (Morgan Page Remix)…

Andy Caldwell ft. Gram’ma Funk – Funk Nasty (Wolfgang Gartner Remix)…

Sergio Mendes – Orpheus (Mike Rizzo Funk Generation Mix)…
