Dancing Astronaut Guide to Miami Week 2011: Thursday 3/24/11

Continuing in our pre-coverage of Miami Week this year, today we bring you a preview of an epic Thursday, the beginning of the weekend and arguably the day I am most excited about. Filled with events from record labels such as MixMash, artists such as Robbie Rivera, and concert planners such as HARD Events, Thursday has music for fans of all EDM genres. Remember, we aren’t just previewing Miami Week, we are going to be there too! E-mail us at miami@wordpress-980886-3437349.cloudwaysapps.com if you want to meet up.

1st Featured Day Event: Pacha NYC and MixMash present the MixMash Pool Party at National Hotel Pool.

Dancing Astronaut Guide to Miami Week 2011: Thursday 3/24/11120poolparty Square

Time: 12:00-10:00PM

Artists Performing:

Laidback Luke, Bart B More, Dada Life, Digital LAB, Gina Turner, GTA, Gregor Salto, Junior Sanchez, Quintino, Rene Amesz, Richard Vission, Diplo, and Felix Cartel.

Why should you go?

In my opinion, this is the best lineup of any pool party. Laidback Luke’s label MixMash and Pacha NYC were able to book an impressive array of big-name artists, including Dada Life and Bart B More, both of whom have started off 2011 with a bang. Combine that with a number of big room house guys, LBL himself, and the late additions of Felix Cartel and Diplo and it’s difficult to even comprehend how unbelievable this pool party is going to be.

2nd Featured Day Event: Robbie Rivera presents Juicy Beach at Nikki Beach.

Dancing Astronaut Guide to Miami Week 2011: Thursday 3/24/11Juicy%20Beach

Time: 12PM to 5AM

Artists Performing:

Robbie Rivera, Joachim Garraud, Alex Gaudino, Tocadisco, Umek, Thomas Gold, Bingo Players, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero, Pleasurekraft, Oscar G, Vandalism, EDX, Tom Stephan, Stonebridge, Richard Vission, Sydney Blu, Marcus Schossow, DMS12, Abel Ramos, Dero, Willie Morales, George Acosta, Maurizio Gubellini, Dim Chris, Tony Arzadon, DJ Ralph, Edgar V, QBA, Richard Dinsdale, Lizzie Curious, David Solano

Why should you go?

Well 17 hours of house music for one. I’m not sure there is another lineup out there that screams “Big Room House” quite like this lineup. Robbie Rivera’s event has been a mainstay of Ultra week for some time now, but this year even Robbie’s outdone himself. Some of the biggest names in house and progressive house will be making an appearance, including Thomas Gold, Bingo Players, Alex Gaudino, Robbie Rivera (naturally…) and Joachim Garraud. Keytar!!

1st Featured Night Event: HARD Events presents HARD Miami at Grand Central.

Time: 10PM – 5AM

Artists Performing:

Tiga, Diplo, Sebastian, DJ Mehdi, Busy P, Brodinski, Destructo, Mumbai Science, Tinie Tempah, + Special Guests

Why should you go?

This event is basically the biggest Indie Dance event of the week, with some of the big names from Turbo, Ed Banger, and Mad Decent making an appearance. I personally am very excited to see a Mumbai Science set, as they blew up at the end of last year with their tracks “Ancova” and “Gold.” I’m expecting big things from them as well as many of the others on this list. Also wouldn’t be totally blown away if Justice made a surprise appearance here, especially given the impending release of their new album. Big time! Big time!

Now, Dirty South is back with Starphazing featuring some great guests such as Thomas Gold and Norman Doray. If you are a big progressive house fan, then this is the event for you.
