Dancing Astronaut was present for Sidney Samson’s show at Ruby Skye on October 1st and needless to say, he threw it down. Not only did we get showered in champagne, but his newest release “Thanks I Get” drove the crowd nuts (see video after the jump). This two track EP features Sidney’s trademark Dutch sounds and high energy craziness.

“Thanks I Get” is easily recognizable because the lyrics grasp your attention from the get go, the pulsing bl33ps just destroy the speakers and make you want to jump up and down like the floor is set on fire. Trust us – listening to this track on your headphones doesn’t do “Thanks I Get” the justice it deserves, you must catch Sidney next time at Surrender Las Vegas so you can listen to it on some real speakers (also listen to his tribute to “Surrender“).

“The Street Is Ours” features a more playful bassline when compared to “Thanks I Get” and it does not hit quite as hard. Both the lyrics and the structure of the entire EP are similar – we like the spiritual sounding build up at approximately 2:15. Are Sidney’s drums the most recognizable on the planet?
