One year after his productional onslaught, Nick van de Wall’s #7 spot on DJ Mag’s top 100 is certainly one of the more accurate placements on the list. The dutch superstar has been teasing us with a bunch of youtube videos and a live ustream, which made all of us desperately wait for a release. Afrojack’s latest release of “Lionheart” is not just big, it’s COLOSSAL! The slow build up of electro synths shouldn’t fool you for what the track is all about. At 1:40, Afrojack begins his ascent with futuristic bleeps that lead into one of the filthiest, hardest, and epic drops we have ever heard from the dutchman. If the drop wasn’t enough, at 2:50 a jaw grinding bass line takes over with the signature subtle cowbell that Afrojack loves to place in his tracks. “Lionheart” truly depicts Afrojack’s heavy weight status and stage presence. Now that we have finally gotten a monstrous release from Nick, the next step is to witness “Lionheart” cause complete destruction on dance floors worldwide.
