SHM Miami tickets still MIA, but Masquerade Motel expanding to two days? (updated)

Today is supposed to be the day that tickets go on sale for Swedish House Mafia’s Masquerade Motel, but as of now there’s still no word on their availability. We have, however, gotten an interesting tip that may be a reason for the delay. Reader Andrew was searching on Wantickets for anything SHM related, and found not one, but two different dates for SHM Miami shows: Friday March 23rd (which we knew about) and Saturday March 24th.

As if that wasn’t enough, the pages also reveal a new location at Haulover Beach Park, which is quite a far trek from UMF’s outpost at Bayfront. According to the very unconfirmed but seemingly legit pages, the show will run from 3-11PM both days, with SHM headlining both nights (obviously) but “most bands before them will change.” Again, none of this info is confirmed just yet, but this was too substantial for us not to tell you about. We’re not sure what’s going on with ticket availability, but you can be certain that we’ll fill you in as soon as we get more information.

Update: SHM has officially confirmed the ticket delay due to “circumstances beyond our control.”

    This whole thing is getting to be out of control.  There management team continues to fail when the time comes to release tickets and now adding a second date? To me, makes the whole event less special and unique…..I know they want to directly compete against Ultra but it is being handled quiet poorly

    I dont know about that. I mean obviously the early response has been huge and they knew they couldnt accomodate everyone with one date. It seems like they’re being proactive to avoid a situation like they had at MSG.

    I for one am thrilled they added a saturday date. I have ultra tickets and I feel like ultra’s weakest lineup is saturday. this gives me the opportunity to go to both ultra and masq motel without feeling like im missing out on anything.

    It seems as if they’re doing the best they can

    Last year the move undoubtedly was Masquerade on the Saturday in b/n Ultra, and in my opinion Sunday’s lineup last year to close was the strongest of the whole weekend. 

    If there are two SHM shows this weekend, it makes it less special I agree. Last year, I believe Dirty South and Calvin Harris opened for them, which was tight. 

    If there are indeed two shows, what’s the move – go Friday or Saturday?

    I agree…this is a total turnoff…is it even about the love for he music anymore for these guys? They are hoarding tons of cash and disrespecting their fans…been up since 7am b.c i love house music and happen to like some of SHM’s tracks as they put on a good show….fatboy slim sold out venues as did daft punk…don’t recall BS like this occurring for every event they played at…total exploitation !!!!

    if you have ultra tickets, the day to see shm is saturday. weakest ultra lineup of the 3 days imo.

    Wow this guy must be connected with SHM Management!!! Hes the man for leaking this!! I think it’s great they are adding a second show so they don’t have madness like they did last year, or like the people crying from MSG.

    what I don’t get is this… they only announce ONE day (the 23rd) when they’re planning the 2nd day all along… They said DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND… What demand? The first show hadn’t even gone on sale yet. They have NO clue how fast or how many tickets were sold. How the hell is there a demand? They are trying to get all your money for day 1 then probably announce SHM is actually playing on the NEWLY ANNOUNCED day 2. Screw that shit. imo.

    We didn’t get this from MGMT. Someone contacted us on Twitter, I followed up, verified that the pages existed, and went for it.

    I’m with ya. Wish they would stop playing games, because eventually people will get sick of it and stop caring. Once in a while is okay — 23.09.11, anyone? — but it’s become something out of control.
