Pete Tong gave 17-year-old Madeon the “Essential New Tune” honors on last night’s BBC Radio 1 show, but he also highlighted another young up-and-comer whose work is not to be missed. Walden, an 18-year-old Australian producer, just dropped his debut EP Brightness on Big Beat Records: the title track, which Tong played (and we love), is a sparkling piano-house jam with an euphoric, energetic vibe. The sound is definitely Avicii-esque, but with more of a retro, disco-era flair. We can’t wait to see what else Walden has in store for us in 2012 – we expect big things!
