Alesso – Years (Preview)

Alesso @ Masquerade Motel, Pacha, Ibiza

Among the many surprises Swedish House Mafia delivered during Friday’s BBC Radio 1 takeover was this preview of Alesso’s next single, the sweeping, emotional “Years.” The track is both classic Alesso and an interesting departure from his most recent work; the beat is as detailed and driving as anything we’ve heard from the Swedish wunderkind, yet the piano melody is uniquely delicate. It’s fair to call Alesso part producer, part composer when it comes to “Years” — this isn’t the kind of speaker-shattering sound we’ve heard on tracks like “Raise Your Head” or the upcoming “Eclipse.” No word on release date, but we’re guessing it will drop on Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune Records.

Update: ”Years” will finally be released on August 4th.

Interesing how fickle people are these days. A year ago everyone was raving about him and praising him. Now, people are saying he’s boring or making crap. Good to see him switch up his “sound” imo Alesso has been the most consistent producing hit after hit
