Spring Awakening Music Festival to bring Skrillex, Daft Punk to Soldier Field in Chicago?

We all know that the internet is a breeding ground for hoaxes and hearsay, but when we heard some buzzing about a so-called Spring Awakening Music Festival at Soldier Field in Chicago — one with rumored headliners Skrillex and Daft Punk — we had to start investigating ourselves. After some snooping, we’ve verified that there is definitely something big planned for June in the Windy City. Read on for what we know so far.

We did a little investigative work ourselves — you know how we can be — and confirmed that the event seems to be real, though we can’t say as much for the details. The company behind the event, React Presents, has a good track record for bringing EDM talent to the Chicago area, and has already set up a website, Twitter account, and Facebook page for Spring Awakening.

LiveMusicBlog was first to catch wind of the show, and took screenshots before the site was pulled. While none of this information is confirmed just yet, tickets will purportedly run $90 for the two-day event, which will be headlined by Skrillex alongside Dada Life, Laidback Luke and Afrojack.

We have no doubt something big is in the works here, but the details are still out there. Do we think Daft Punk is going to perform its first full-length set since 2007 at an unestablished festival? We highly doubt it — but we can always hope.

Even without DP, should still be a pretty sick time. Most of these guys tend to skip over Chicago when they tour the US, despite it being the 3rd largest city in the country.

    Also, who still uses Vista?
