Alesso proves that ‘less is more’ at Mansion with Otto Knows and Sebastian Ingrosso in tow
Alesso, Otto Knows, and Sebastian Ingrosso — the night’s “special guest” — could have just come and gone through Mansion’s venerable doors, but instead they came with something extra special. After all, it is Miami Music Week, and that meant a club jam-packed with people genuinely excited to be there. Whether you were up in the luxurious table area pouring from bottles or just buying drinks at the bar, everyone had a VIP experience in and got to see quite a show. This Miami crowd was one of the most memorable to date, not only did they know many of the tracks – but they also responded incredibly well. Keep reading for the top five tracks from the night that ultimately proved that ‘less is more.’
1. You’ve Got the Love (Mark Knight Remix) vs. Tim Mason – “The Moment” (Steve Angello edit)
Mansion is the epitome of a big room club, and by combining two of the biggest tracks from last year, Alesso filled its cavernous hull with energy that was unparalleled. The vocals from “You’ve Got The Love” resonated throughout the entire room, but the drop was replaced with Tim Mason’s “The Moment.” If you were not jumping up and down, we don’t know what to tell you.
Swedish House Mafia – Greyhound (Original Mix)
Maybe you can consider this an obvious track, but hearing it live is a completely different experience. To tell you the truth, it’s not as big as we thought it would be – it’s bigger.
3. Alesso – Years (Original Mix)
Yes it’s unreleased and no we don’t have any new details about when it will be, but Alesso’s “Years” garnered a great reaction. It especially resonated with the record label folks on-site, and we have to agree: this track is destined for big things.
4. Hard Rock Sofa – Quasar (Original Mix)
Alesso is seriously progressing as a DJ, and rather than simply transitioning from track to track, he develops sets with the savvy of a veteran. Needless to say, “Quasar” is an absolute weapon. Alesso knew it, we knew it, and he used it to his advantage when he blew us away.
5. Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso – Calling (Lose My Mind)
We had to give it a mention, but since it’s too easy, there’s a bonus.
5a. Deniz Koyu – Tung (Original Mix)
This tune never loses its steam. It’s high energy, and possesses the power to completely dismantle your soul. Live it and love it, drop this in your next set and be a God among the masses of people who are craving every decision you make.
