Sidney Samson’s new offering, “Something in the Air,” dropped on Beatport today and the track is strikingly different from his other productions. While we’re used to hearing dirty Dutch tracks like “Papi” and “Surrender” from Samson, “Something in the Air” is of the progressive house persuasion. The track boasts an especially melodious build up and soft synths, which are clear departures from the bleeps and heavy breakdowns typically present in his productions. While some people will be disappointed, we’re intrigued as it’s always nice to see producers experiment with different sounds. Tiesto, Sander van Doorn, R3hab and now Samson have all done this with pleasing results (some better than others, but pleasing nonetheless).
