Exclusive: Sensation White coming to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in October (update: Fedde Le Grand confirmed?)
It has been a long time coming, but Sensation America will finally touch down in the Big Apple in late October, according to our previously-reliable sources. The Barclays Center in Brooklyn will be the first venue for the previously Euro-only event, and the arena is set to open on September 28th with an inaugural concert by Brooklyn Nets part-owner Jay-Z.
We have also been told that Sensation will be invading other basketball arenas throughout the US, though we don’t have any other specifics at this time. The last piece of the Sensation puzzle is the talent, and we’ve heard that there will be “several” headliners. Unfortunately we’re not quite confident enough to share that info just yet, but past events have had fairly stacked lineups so we’re confident that ID&T will not disappoint. The full Sensation USA announcement is set for this Thursday, May 31st, at 7:30PM EST — we’ll bring you more as soon as possible.
Update: Whomping Stereo now reports that Fedde Le Grand will “be among the star-studded lineup” for least one of the shows, after he reportedly let it slip during an interview at UMF. We have no way to confirm their report, but we can tell you it is not the same person we teased on Twitter earlier today. Still, Fedde does do lots of Sensation events so this does seem plausible — even though UMF was a full eight months before the October US date. Bottom line: take this prediction with a grain of salt, but we’re 100% on the venue.
Update 2: (May 30th) We can now confirm that there will not be a talent announcement taking place tomorrow.
