With summer finally upon us, New York natives Filo & Peri present us with the first installment on their new label, Lights N Loaded Records. The clubworthy bangers that make up the three-track EP feature an even mixture of acid, tribal, and progressive house.
Title track “Monsta” embraces NYC’s staple tribal house sound – but is offered in a big-room, progressive styling. “SummerSLAM’s” lead drives an artillery of synth-play into a slamming drop (pun intended). From the outset of “What You Came Here For”, you can hear the vintage treatment from the ever so popular, Roland 303. The all around punchy acid house sound that we’ve heard on recent releases like Nicky Romero’s “Generation 303” is becoming a popular tool within the production community. Filo & Peri’s newly constructed sound is quite apparent on this EP, and makes for an essential addition to your summertime playlist. Click past the break and have a listen.
