Massive event production company Live Nation has purchased Cream Holdings, the British company responsible for the European festival brand, Creamfields. In addition to the assets acquired, Cream’s founder James Barton will become president of Live Nation’s Electronic Music division. Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino has already revealed that the company intends to launch new festivals “in key markets in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.” We don’t know exactly what this means for the already crowded event space, but given the latest Creamfields UK lineup, we wouldn’t mind seeing that festival make it stateside.
