Miike Snow’s “Devil’s Work” earned a top spot on DA‘s ‘Top 10 Tracks of April‘ with a remix from Dirty South, and the Swedish pop band may find themselves in a similar position this month as Thomas Gold has received remix duties for their next single, “The Wave.” Miike Snow’s indie vocal once again lends itself to progressive house as the union with Thomas Gold sounds like a match made in heaven. Leaving little trace of the original, Gold’s uplifting and melodic progression takes the lead, producing an instant favorite that translates to all live audiences. Thomas Gold’s remix of “The Wave” is now available on Beatport via Axtone ahead of his compilation to be released May 28th.

A far cry away from American dancefloors is a very healthy London house scene, fostered by the good people over at RinseFM, a station that started as pirate radio back in 1994 before earning their rights to be a community FM broadcast 16 years later. Rinse resident Kismet’s podcast is similarly rooted in the London underground and this 2-hour mix from Saturday night was a 2-hour long exercise in jungle, grime and dub. It’s a steady wave of gripping club cuts including Ferrer and Hommen’s “No Difference.” One that weaves and rolls through an after hours collection of UK’s growing deep house scene. Ultimately begging the question; “When the last time you heard it like this?”
