Original Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta help celebrate Joachim Garraud’s birthday, 2005 style (video)

It’s hard to imagine that there was ever a time when EDM was “underground,” but this video from 2005 will g

ive you a little glimpse at what it was like before LED screens and lasers were the norm. Back in 2005, Joachim Garraud threw himself a private party to celebrate hitting the 1,000 member milestone in his forum as well as his birthday. Joachim invited some huge talent to the 100 person event, including the entire original Swedish House Mafia — yes, we mean including Eric Prydz — and David Guetta. The video shows some of the biggest names in music before they got so huge, and it’s pretty wild to see Steve Angello, Axwell, and Guetta so young (not to mention Sebastian Ingrosso with a crew cut). Other highlights include a drunken-rendition of “Happy Birthday” in Swedish by Axwell and Eric Prydz, a brief piano appearance from Guetta, and Steve Angello wearing his headphones Axwell-style. It’s a lazy Sunday and there isn’t much else going on, so click the play button above and party like it’s 2005.

Update: Added another video that A-Trak shot with SHM in 2008 below. Thanks, Maxx!
