Mat Zo misses EDC time slot, offers would-be set on SoundCloud page
A low point at this years EDC Las Vegas was Mat Zo’s absence at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy stage. Hours of bumper to bumper traffic plagued day one forcing Zo to miss his set. In hopes of alleviating distraught fans pain, his next live show was recorded and uploaded to his SoundCloud page. Read past the break for our take on his set and a full track list.
This live set features a unique and imaginative track selection as well as some refreshingly original bootlegs. Pairing classics like Cirez D’s “The Tumble” (that’s Eric Prydz backwards for those unfamiliar) with the a cappella from Danny Tenaglia’s “Elements” is as rare as it is awe-inspiring. Other notable tracks include Nicky Romero’s remix of “Flash” which he pairs with his original production “Ring It On” and Deadmau5’ edit to Daft Punk’s “Harder Better Faster Stronger.” The use of four separate Deadmau5 tracks in this one-hour set makes it evidently clear where this wunderkind gets his inspiration. Listening to his set from the comfort of our home wasn’t the same as if we’d been at Circuit Grounds – but hey, its better than nothing, right?
