Pacha NYC hosts Eric Prydz at Beekman Beach Club July 28th, tickets on sale Friday

It’s been exactly five years since Swedish house producer Eric Prydz graced the decks of Pacha NYC. This summer he embarks on a North American tour with Identity Festival, stopping to play some special shows across the country as well. On July 28th, the same venue that brought you Knife Party will host the musical guises of Eric Prydz. Beekman Beach Club will provide for an intimate and authentic Pryda set; dedicated fans can skip the Identity charade and enjoy music from Eric Prydz on the NYC waterfront.

Should you be interested in doing a Pryda double header (like most of the DA staff), we’re told that Beekman’s doors will open at 10PM, providing enough time for people to make it to both. We encourage you not to sleep on these tickets when they go on sale Friday at Noon EST. An appearance by this longstanding legend is a rare one, and a double-header is even more unheard of.

holy FUUUUCK! so this is a NIGHT PARTY? OUTDOORS? EP is obvz headling identity which means when he leaves, so will we, and we’ll make sure to get to the other venue at the same time as him :D

  3. What time does this shutdown? I thought outdoor events had to end at 11p in NY?

  4. Gabi Musayev says:

We’re not entirely sure yet, but there is an event taking place at Beekman this Friday that ends at 2 AM. Once we hear more, we’ll let you know.

I was there for knife party. The sound was horrible. They had these toy joke speakers so unless you’re under the tiny tent you can’t hear anything. It was hot as fuck under the tents because of the trapped heat with no space at all. It was a joke setup that seemed like it was pulled together last minute (after Brooklyn Terminal fell through maybe). I can’t believe they would do that to EPIC?! Give the man a proper space and sound system. This is PRYDA!

  6. ETA says:

Oh yea, I forgot to add that once Knife Party came on everyone was trying to shove into the tent to hear anything and people were getting shoved so hard that at one point knife party stopped the music to ask everyone to move back so the front row is not thrashed into the metal bars. It’s kind of a small space but the bad sound made it into a tiny space. Why won’t DA call Pacha out on some of its event bullshit even though I’m sure you have to be bosom buddies to co-survive but seriously “dedicated fans” should not skip ID though tickets have been sold out for months so I guess it may be worth risking your safety.

no bueno sadly. i went for knife party after the brooklyn terminal project got all fucked up, and was terribly disappointed by this “venue”. made is doing big things in little spaces on governors island, yet pacha has this shitty venue – and for eric mothafucking prydz none-the-less? this is going to be way worse than knife party if they don’t cap the capacity limit and bring in a new speaker system knowing that this is the venue they got.

  8. steve says:

They resorted to beekman’s for knife party, so it was pulled together last minute. They usually have more chill, deep house artists play there with no need for crazy production or massive speakers. And I was outside of the tent during knife party and I heard it just fine. They have over a month to prepare for pryda and I definitely think they will cater to him. The venue is small, but is awesome and will be sick for an intimate pryda set no doubt

  9. no faith says:

I don’t know if I’m comfortable putting that much trust in Pacha not overselling an event and fixing things that they probably don’t think are broken. I don’t like smoke so that strip right by the smokers outside the tent where the sound was okay was not an option for me. Behind the tent in the sand area the levels were really off. I just don’t understand this venue for productions that I want to hear on a real sound system. It seems nice to have some background music on while drinking beer with friends. Maybe by some miracle pryda will be hosted at cielo with a cap of tickets where we can have intimate and great sound, as if

Do you have any idea when it ends
