David Guetta opens up world’s first airport club in Ibiza
Yes, we know you thought that there were already enough clubs in Ibiza — we did too. However, it turns out that we were all wrong. David Guetta has continued to expand his love of combining house music with air travel by teaming up with Áreas to open the world’s first lounge/club in an airport… in Ibiza.
The F*** Me I’m Famous Lounge Club by Cathy & David Guetta aims to immerse travelers to Ibiza in the White Isle’s culture before they even leave the airport. The club, which will be open 24/7, measures an impressive 260 square meters and includes both a DJ booth/dance-floor area as well as a more laidback chill out/lounge area with views of the Ses Salines Natural Park. Áreas highlights “Music, casual food and spectacular views” as just three features that make the F*** Me I’m Famous Lounge Club a can’t miss on the Ibiza club circuit.
The music and ambience of the lounge/club will change throughout the day. Bright, sunrise-inspired lighting and chill-out music set the scene from 6am to 2pm. The vibe becomes progressively more that of a club throughout the day as funk and Latin house are played until 7pm, house and deep house until midnight, before the night is rounded by tech-house and electro-house until 6am.
With so many enticing options lying just outside the airport, we can’t say we’re overly optimistic about the financial viability of the club. But we’re sure a certain number of tourists will stop in for the novelty if nothing else. David, if all else fails, we’re sure you’ll still be able to book a gig on the flight over.
