For those of you who were excited to get splattered this weekend in Brooklyn, we have some unfortunate news. According to a statement on Dayglow’s official website, the event has been postponed due to a last minute reversal of their sound permit. This isn’t the first time the event has run into trouble in New York City. If you recall, almost two years it was shut down by the NYPD mid-party and post paint drop because the venue was over capacity. This time, however, the postponement seems to have been out of their hands.
Dayglow is offering refunds to interested parties. These refunds can be redeemed by contacting TicketFly but we suggest waiting to see if you can make the alternate date — they will be honoring already purchased tickets. We’ll keep you updated with the new date and other information as it comes in. Read on for the full statement.
“Due to circumstances beyond the control of Dayglow LLC and Committee Entertainment, the Dayglow- Life in Color eventwith Chuckie and Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas scheduled to take place in New York July 15, 2012 at the BK Festival Grounds in Coney Island has been postponed.
“Dayglow is dedicated to its fans and will honor all tickets sold for the make-up date, which will be announced shortly. Refunds for those who cannot attend will be honored as well.” – Dayglow Team
Dayglow has a long history of putting on successful events, having sold out over 200 shows without any municipal issues. It is unclear why the sound permit was denied since the fairground venue on Coney Island, NY is a regular host to a variety of music events and concerts year round.
