Afrojack announces new US Jacked tour, hints at big NYE plans for New York
After dropping hints in a recent Ustream session, Afrojack has officially announced the latest round of dates for his next North American Jacked tour. Boasting 18 shows in total, the tour will take him coast to coast in venues of all sizes — everything from Petco Park in San Diego, to Chicago’s Congress Theater, to Mansion in Miami.
On his way to the studio in Amsterdam, Nick told us that he will be sticking to his proven formula this time around, but says that “it’s going to be bigger, have crazier visuals, and new music, of course.” He adds that “like every tour, I try to play the music that’s coming out after that tour — I’ll play the new shit that’s gonna be released at the end of 2012 / beginning of 2013,” but promises that “I’m still gonna play ‘Rock The House’ of course.” Still, that’s just the start of where things get interesting.
While the first list of tour dates includes major hotspots like LA, Vegas, and Miami, the most notable missing location is New York City (he has shows in Binghamton and Rochester). We asked him about the omission, and he tells us that “I’m doing another party in New York like really soon that’s really big — New York has to wait a little longer.” We’ve heard rumors that he may very well be hosting a massive party on New Years Eve at Pier 94, though that news is far from confirmed in any official capacity. It does seem possible, or probable, that he will be stopping in NYC at some point in the middle of the tour, though we aren’t certain enough to share potential venues just yet.
