Lee Foss out with Electricity EP, children conceived around the world

Lee Foss, recent Essential Mix champ and Hot Creations label head, is out today with his latest EP, Electricity. The native Chicagoan’s title track, a collaboration with MK (full name Mark Kinchen) and vocalist Anabel Englund is an unbelievably stirring track. Englund’s stripped and simple vocals paired with Foss and MK’s slow-moving but breathtaking breaks equal grade A baby-making music. A side track 2 of the EP belongs to “Goodnight Moon,” a tune that turns dow the sex but turns up the intricacy with a parade of unique synths, percussions, and of course, a killer bass line.

Turning to the B side, Foss ventures back through the soulful side of his hometown’s past on “Could Be,” without leaving behind his Hot Creations groove and a chromatic mid-lines. The most surprising addition to the EP for us, however, was the final track “B5 the Dinks,” which samples a scene from Pryzbylewski’s classroom in The Wire Season 4 and manages to roll thinly veiled social commentary into an uptempo deep house track.
