Candyland – Bring The Rain EP
California’s dubstep duo Candyland is starting 2013 with a bang, following up their successful remix streak with their very own EP, Bring The Rain. Released this week on Spinnin Records, the EP hosts six original tracks full of collabs, builds, and unexpected twists.
The EP hits hard with opening track “It’s A Shark,” a glitchy, dubby, YouTube-sampled moombahton collaboration with Big Chocolate, but switches into a more melodic gear with the Sander Van Doorn-approved “Castle of Affair.” We expect the electro/moombahton “Get Wild” to get some serious Spring Break airtime, but it’s the EP’s namesake that truly stands out. Built on a piano intro and featuring Lexi Forche’s vocals, “Bring The Rain” saves itself from ballad status by throwing some inspired tone play into the breakdown.
