DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine: deep house edition

Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.

Call it editorial bias, call it spontaneity, but we can’t help but feature an exclusively deep house edition of Sunday Morning Medicine this week. Something about that sub-120 bpm house is so damn sexy! This week features French Express artists Perseus and Chris Malinchak, as well as beautiful originals from Moullinex, Bicep, and DA favorite Disclosure.

If you missed any of last week’s more melodic releases, make sure to check out Russ Chime’s impressive Radio 1 Minimix, Audien’s Above and Beyond-approved “Wayfarer,” and the seventh installment of Eric Prydz’s Epic Radio. For five tracks to make your morning a bit deeper, click past the break.

1. French Express have brought us the likes of Chris Malinchak and Jonas Rathmsan. The feel-good deep house label have an ear for upcoming deep house talent. Check out this this free release from Perseus on French Express, entitled “Seychelles.”

2. Moullinex’s original “Darkest Night” features inspiring drum work and romantic vocals from Iwona Skwarek at a seductively slow bpm.

3. The aforementioned Chris Malinchak makes resplendent deep house tunes. “If U Got It” is simply joyous and jubilant house. Download it for free from SoundCloud.

4. Bicep’s “Vision of Love” marked the launch of Feel My Bicep Records. The song itself is deep, piano house, with an old school vibe.

5. If you’re not on your Disclosure game yet, you’ve got some serious catching up to do. “Boiling” was one of our favorite tracks off Disclosure’s groundbreaking The Face EP, and we can’t help but feature it here.
