Datsik has certainly been busy these past few weeks. Immediately following the debut of his newest single, “Vindicate,” revealed earlier this month, the Canadian-born producer has already managed to bring us the first installment of his latest EP. Filled with a high dose of bass-infused tracks boasting chilling melodies and synergic rap collaborations, Datsik’s Cold Blooded: Part I is a prime example of dubstep at its finest and, without a doubt, one of his top releases to date. Read below for the breakdown and stream of the extended play.
Opening with a monstrous title track that will more than likely demolish your average set of speakers, “Cold Blooded” is chock full of so much bass that it quite possibly verges on the obscene. The next track, “Automatik,” albeit a little slower and less in your face than its predecessor, is a relatively catchy follow-up featuring lyrics by LA-based rapper Messinian that you may find yourself reciting after a few listens. Ending on a high note with the pulsating “Release Me,” a high energy dubstep piece characteristic of the mastery we have come to expect from Datsik at this point, the seven track EP is is a must-have for any playlist and an excellent precursor to Cold Blooded: Part II, which will be available later this spring.
