Preview ‘Superstitious Heart’ EP from Maya Jane Coles, Simian Mobile Disco, and Little Boots

“Er?!?” was my initial reaction when I heard Maya Jane Coles was teaming up with James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco and Victoria Hekseth of Little Boots. Fortunately, however, it seems the formula for an amazing collaboration is most definitely good producer + good producer + good vocalist. A pinch of MJC’s cooing instrumentals, a dash of Simian Mobile Disco’s analogue techno flair a la more recent LPs like Unpatterns and Delicacies, and Little Boots’s soothing indie vocals are undoubtedly a match made in dance fangirl heaven for me.

The title track of the EP, “Superstitious Heart,” will include a both instrumental and dub mixes, as well as reworks from 2020Vision label head and UK mainstay Ralph Lawson and the recently hot Leeds-based PBR Streetgang. On the B side of the 12″ there’ll be another track, “Whatever Sets You Free” which is produced by Baunz and naturally flows with his rich and deep melodic sounds. Survey says this is due for a digital release on February 18th but you can press repeat on the previews below at least 134 times before that.
