The City of Miami’s commission has met to vote on commissioner Marc Sarnoff’s proposed resolution that would prevent Ultra Music Festival from hosting their inaugural second weekend. Prior to the vote, Sarnoff offered Ultra the option of paying $500,000 and the allowance of the second weekend in 2013 under the circumstance that the festival will be limited to one weekend moving forward. Ultra’s representative, Bryan May, has accepted the offer, saving weekend two.
Update: The commission has voted and approved the event for this year, and the city will remain open to the idea of two weekends in the future under the condition that Ultra seeks permission prior to presale.
