Avicii offically releases ‘Avicii X You’ collaboration with fan submissions
Over the past seven weeks, Avicii has gathered fan submissions for what is set to be the largest scale musical collaboration ever. In an attempt to involve as many of his fans as possible, the world-renowned producer allowed anyone to submit their own piece of production giving out a chord progression melody to start back in January. With over 13,000 submissions from 140 different countries, Avicii selected weekly semi-finalists and gave fans the power to choose which beats made the final cut.
Now after weeks of tireless listening and hours of production in his Los Angeles studio, “Avicii X You” is ready for its worldwide delivery. The collaboration illustrates the full effect technology and social media has on today’s society, giving fans and unknown artists the ability to make their productions heard through powerful channels.
As an added bonus, Project 46 also tried their hand at the collab — using Avicii’s stems to add their own elements and vocals to the track. This is not an official collaboration, but still fun to take a listen.
