Azari & III, already fine purveyors of sonic tributes to the house music of yesteryear with mega-hits like “Hungry for the Power” and “Reckless (With Your Love),” are back with a remix package for “Indigo,” the latest single off their 2012 self-titled album. At its heart, “Indigo” is a frenetic tune, using a variety of drum machines, piano riffs, and vintage synth work to make its waves.
Fellow Canadian Konrad Black’s shadowy remix is a large techno rework of the track — it’s clear the man has caught the Berlin bug in his time there. Sergio Santiago’s “12am mix” presents the stage more to the distorted vox rework and, dare I ask…are those laser guns? Whatever it is, it’s trippy and spacey and I like it. Check out the original from the album and the two reworks below. While you’re at it, you can purchase the total package (which includes Azari & III’s dub and a cappella mixes) on Beatport. This one was out this week on Dim Mak.
