This past weekend, Ferry Corsten excited electronica fans worldwide by dropping a new rework of his 2011 collaboration with Betsie Larkin, “Stars.” In doing so, the Dutch producer has taken the relatively tame original and subtly transformed it into a vertiginous trance hit that possesses all the makings of an international club sensation.
Although this latest remix from Corsten still recycles about 90% of the initial release’s soothing melody and captivating hook, it also boasts a variety of new elements that range from slightly muted vocals to heart-pounding snare and some incredibly electrifying synths. It may give off a slightly eery vibe from time to time, but in the end, Corsten’s energizing edit is a solid effort from the Ultra Records artist and is sure to begin blowing up playlists across the globe.
If you’re in the mood for a heady trance track that will keep you feeling good from start to finish, we recommend you take this new one out for a spin. Unlike your grandmother’s cooking, we’re sure it won’t disappoint.
