I don’t remember exactly what I was doing at 17, but I’m 99.9% sure I wasn’t mixing up Grade A tracks like this latest head banger from Danny Avila. The Spanish youngster may not be old enough to (legally) set foot in a club just yet, but dear lord does he know how to produce a raging trapstep remix that is sure to get those pulses racing.
Collaborating with Generation Wild cohort Mikael Weermets on this newest endeavor, a bass-booming rendition of Skylar Grey‘s “C’mon Let Me Ride,” Avila has literally turned the original on its head and transformed it from a relatively innocuous pop jingle into a meaty, action-packed trap hit. Still maintaining Grey’s powerful vocals and general underlying melody, the Madrid native has teamed up with the Swedish DJ to add some pretty serious synth work into the mix, as well as an insanely dope drop that makes the 2012 single virtually unrecognizable. With this remarkable hit being Avila’s first release of the new year, we can’t wait to see what else he has in store for 2013.
Look for the full remix to debut on Interscope Records February 5th.
