Few music festivals have captured the hearts and minds of fans as passionately as Tomorrowland has. For many, it’s a bucket list item and for a lucky few that dream was realized today when worldwide tickets for the massive event went on sale. Tickets for the global audience sold out in the blink of an eye, or one second to be exact — faster than Swedish House Mafia’s 9-minute MSG sell out time. The Belgian pre-sale, which took place last Saturday sold out in mere minutes. Data collected from the sale indicates that music fans from over 214 countries — 10 more than attended the 2012 Olympics — will flock to Belgium making it the “most international gathering on the planet.”
Although Tomorrowland 2013 is completely sold out, we’ve been informed that an exciting and potentially huge announcement is coming this Monday the 18th. If we had to guess, it might have something to do with ID&T’s plan to expand the festival. We’ll update you as soon as we know more.
