Danny Howard holds the fort for Pete Tong with debut Essential Selection duties

With Pete Tong holding the fort in Las Vegas for the annual EDMBiz conference, Danny Howard took the reigns for this week’s Essential Selection radio show for BBC Radio One. Between crowning Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” his first Essential New Tune and getting the cream of the crop from Dutch duo Bingo Players, Howard held the fort with cutting edge tunes from start to finish.

Kicking off with Don Diablo & Matt Nash’s “Starlight (Could You Be Mine)” and recently unveiled Revealed Recordings vocal anthem “Escape” from 3Lau & Paris & Simo, Howard lead a festival-proof overhaul from start to finish. With brand new material coming from Dannic, Duck Sauce and Eric Prydz, Marcus Schossow & Sebjak’s latest single “Kemi” added to a future-focused installment on all counts.

Bingo Players were in the seats with their Goody Goodies, with Dancing Astronaut’s own One To Watch MAKJ and youngest Beatport chart topper Martin Garrix all along for the ride. After celebrating the country-esque wrath of “Wake Me Up” and inaugurating Axwell’s “I Found U” into the Pete Tong Hall of Fame, Howard topped a successful first stint with his own Weekend Hot Mix from across the global dance spectrum.
