Erkka is a Finnish producer and one half of the Komytea duo, but like many producers before him the bug has bit him to venture off on his own. “Excommunication” is one half of his debut solo EP Excommunication/Air Conditioner off Anjunabeats’ Anjunadeep label. Like much of the material coming out of the Anjunadeep camp in recent months, Erkka’s “Excommunication” is a quality example of the deeper end of dance music’s pool — incorporating not just a punchy bass line, but also thoughtful melodic elements and vocals.
