LA Mayor Eric Garcetti likes dance music, wants to bring events back to the City of Angels
Although the Electric Daisy Carnival has found its new home in Las Vegas quite comfortable since its ousting from Los Angeles in 2010, it seems there is still hope for Southern Californian dance music fans wishing to have more events in Los Angeles City and County. Even festivals likes Insomniac’s Beyond Wonderland and Escape from Wonderland are not quite in Los Angeles, but rather neighboring San Bernardino County.
In a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA), newly elected LA mayor Eric Garcetti, a man already quite familiar with the friendship of those in nightlife, faced the questions of the return of festival-like dance events to America’s second largest city. Even before the AMA began on Thursday evening, commenters were talking about asking the question.
His answer was brief, but for many ravers in Los Angeles, more hopeful than they’ve heard in years:
