Paris Hilton’s update on new album: ‘electro pop’ with ‘dance-y songs’
The latest update on Paris Hilton‘s forthcoming musical project comes with a shoulder shrug and a well-deserved sigh of relief. As previously reported, Hilton has been signed to Cash Money Records and is working on a house music album. Met with cold reception from disturbed dance music fans, Hilton’s upcoming album won’t be house music in the traditional sense, but rather her debut will be a blend of commercial music that brings electro, pop, and dance together for an attempt at Top 40 relevance. In a recent statement, Hilton claims that her album is almost finished and that Lil Wayne will be guest featured. She goes on to describe the album’s dance influence in layman’s terms.
“I’m in the studio and almost finished with the album, and yeah, they’re just finishing up all the paperwork and there will be an announcement soon. But I’m so excited. I think they’ve created an amazing brand. Lil Wayne and some other surprise guests will be on the album, and it’s going to be so sick. It’s an electropop album with some dance-y songs.”
As her affiliation with Afrojack has dwindled, Hilton seems to be stepping on less toes in the dance music community under the jurisdiction of Lil’ Wayne. An “electropop” album with “dance-y songs” comes less offensive than her previously “house music album” declaration and appears to be shaping up to be a mere attempt at radio success with the increasingly electro-influenced formula.
