Techno is coming: Electric Forest and Laneway Festivals add Movement stages

Only days after Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox played the main stage at EDC Las Vegas, two American festivals have announced the addition of Movement-hosted stages at their events this year. It would seem, to savvy dance music fans, that techno is just now getting its time in the sun in the United States. Laneway Festival’s first foray into America will hit Detroit on September 14th and Paxahau, along with Matthew Dear’s Ghostly International, will host the Movement Stage — home this year to Adult, Shigeto, Heathered Pearls, Beacon, and Matthew Dear himself.

Not too far away in Michigan, Insomniac’s Electric Forest will also host a Movement Electronic Music Festival “curated event” on the first night of the festival, much like Movement hosted an Electric Forest stage at their own fest this year. Helicopter Showdown, A Tribe Called Red, Ryan Hemsworth, Ana Sia, Michal Menert, RL Grime, and Headhunterz will all be apart of this experience in Rothbury this year.
