Zedd opens up about producing for Lady Gaga’s next album ‘ARTPOP’
If Clarity was any evidence, Zedd is well primed for the intersection between pop music and electronic. After touring with Lady Gaga last spring, Zedd has formally hooked up with the megastar to help produce her forthcoming album ARTPOP. As dance music continues its rise into mainstream acceptance, Zedd’s collaboration with Gaga could represent the zenith of EDM’s advancement.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Zedd said of the studio collaboration: “I’m really, really excited for people to hear what we came up with. I just really can’t imagine they would not like it, to just say it straight up. I think the stuff we’ve made is pretty fucking cool.”
Zedd has apparently finished around “five or six” tracks for Gaga, which, as he explained, fall somewhere along the lines of mainstream dance music: “We didn’t try to make an EDM album – but, at the same time, we didn’t try not to make an EDM album.”
