After previewing “Coelacanth” and “fck a coelacanth” via Soundcloud yesterday, the prolific deadmau5 debuts the third string in the Coelacanth saga, “My Pet Coelacanth.”  An extended version of “fck,” Joel’s latest treads on familiar deadmau5 territory with his impossibly thick kicks and shuffling, pock-marked synthwork. While the highly endangered coelacanths are considered “living fossils,” Joel’s ancient aquatic pet is far more lively than its name would suggest; propelling itself forward through the impressive sound engineering that has come to represent deadmau5’s sonic calling card.

UPDATED: Shortly after writing, deadmau5 released a sped up version of “Turbo Cart Pig Racer” dubbed “Infra Super Turbo Cart Pig Racer.” Check both tracks out after the break.
