In either a gesture of hometown goodwill or stamp of approval on the trap scene, Chicago techno legend Green Velvet has put his name and lyrics behind a Flosstradamus and Yellow Claw collab. Though Sir Curtis Jones can be heard spitting out his own rhymes on the tune, his influence ends with a reverb: Signed to Fool’s Gold, the track is undeniably trap. Or at least international trap. The Amsterdam party that is Bizzie, Jim Aasgier and Nizzle combined their genre-bending mentality with the Hoodie Boyz deep crates for the collab, creating something anthemic, edgy and a touch electro in the process. While the two minute preview rides high on anticipation and light on cookie cutter trap elements, these “Pillz” seem to be of the addictive variety: Come October 4th, expect an epidemic.
