Kill the Noise unleashed Black Magic, his followup to Kill Kill Kill, in November of last year. Featuring such tracks as “Thumbs Up (For Rock N’ Roll)” alongside Feed Me and his own “Mosh It Up” and “Black Magic,” the OWSLA EP received a great deal of attention from both fans and DJs of the wilder perversions of dance music. Nearly a year later, a remix EP has surfaced with reworks from GTA, Henry Fong, Kill Paris, Brillz and more. With a total of nine official remixes (and plenty more NEST exclusives), Black Magic Remixes EP is brimming with festival-ready trap, electro, and house.
GTA kicks off the EP with a remix of “Saturn,” riding the line between Dutch, electro, and Melbourne. Kill Paris remixes the same tune into a mellow future funk track, while ExMag takes a similarly groovy approach to “Jump Ya Body.” Henry Fong leverages a heavy, acid remix of “Mosh It Up” while Kill the Noise remixes his and Feed Me’s “Thumbs Up.” Rounding out the EP, Brillz’s remix of “Talk to Me” is a clear standout, oscillating between a buoyant four-on-the-floor beat and a deft trap section.
