Skrillex and Diplo perform together as Jack U, debut slew of new collaborations
This past weekend in San Diego, California, Diplo’s traveling Mad Decent Block Party took over the city’s Petco Park lot. In addition to acts such as Major Lazer, Zeds Dead, and Dillon Francis, a mysterious headliner referred to as Jack U had been originally rostered as a top biller. Initially following the announcement, Diplo revealed that Jack U is the newest super-duo formation between himself and Skrillex. Coming as Skrillex’s second of such following his Boys Noize tag team of Dog Blood, Jack U is a pairing of electronic superstars and previous Billboard cover boys.
Jack U, however, was only listed to perform once among this summer’s nation-wide block party, but that sole performance become something special when Diplo and Skrillex linked up behind the decks and premiered a handful of never-before-heard collaborative material. Some Petco attendees quick to the punch recorded the debut efforts and, from what has surfaced thusfar, four of those tracks have been revealed — one of which features AlunaGeorge.
