Twerk up your stamina at TomorrowWorld’s It’s A Trap Stage

While Carnage, Diplo and RL Grime will ensure that festival trap gets its fair share of play time across the Chattahoochee Hills grounds, on TomorrowWorld’s opening day fans can run the trap to from noon to night with the aptly named It’s A Trap stage. With 13 hi-hat rolling, hip-hop sampling, ass shake-inducing acts prepared to hit the Dirty South sweet spot, we’ve rounded up a few you simply can’t miss.

Brillz

If all you knew about Brillz was that both Jay Z and Zedd approved his remixes, you may actually be off to a good start. In the trap game for just over a year, the LA-by-NJ producer made his Beatport debut with a remix for Kill The Noise before being swept into the Mad Decent family and hopping over to Slow Roast Records to release his debut Twonk album (the “Clarity” remix and KTN collab you already know). Now hailed for having clean production but filthy sound and using more funk than formula, the captain of the twonk team is prepared to get fresh for his largest audience yet. If you needed a reason to head to the fest before nightfall, just hit play below and adjust your schedule accordingly.

Bro Safari

If Atlanta is truly the birthplace of trap, Bro Safari’s set will be the best kind of homecoming party. The alter-ego of Evol Intent’s Knick was born and raised in the city before relocating to Texas where he and his big sound currently reside. On a musical trajectory that spans from bass to moombahton to trap, the producer’s current sound is most accurately described as an amalgamation of all three. Though his trap side is most often unleashed alongside producer UFO!, with whom he has released his Future Primitive EP and remixed MAKJ, the Bro will be taking the stage solo on Friday, but fret not: We have a pretty good hunch his friends will be there in sound and spirit throughout the jangly genre-jumping set.

Flosstradamus

Saved as a special surprise headliner after the stage’s initial announcement this April, Chicago duo Flosstradamus will be sending trap fans off into the night sweaty, lightheaded, and possibly with a twerk date. Though identified amongst the cream of the trap crop, the duo have more cred than fits into their black hoodies; like the best sort of Chi Town legends, Josh Curt and got their start at the turntables. Kicking off their musical career back in 2000, the pair eschewed fitting into a box from the start, creating their own dance party instead of catering to club patrons. Keeping on their whirlwind ride by hopping from a Matt & Kim remix to a Lana Del Rey sample to production work for Iggy Azalea while touring with Dillon Francis, A-Trak and DJ Slink, the only thing to expect other than the unexpected at their TomorrowWorld set is a helluva lot of turning up.
