ASOT 650 New Horizons 2014 dates announced, tour will be ‘massive,’ says Armin van Buuren

The continued mission to turn our world into a dance floor has arrived once again…and so far, it seems to be working. Since the colossal success of the ASOT 600 Expedition tour, the anticipation and excitement worldwide for ASOT 650 has been tremendous. On October 3rd, at the NASA Space Expo in Utrecht in The Netherlands, Armin van Buuren took to the microphone to announce the official stops for next year’s voyage, called the New Horizons tour. Here they are:

Yekaterinaburg, Russia – February 1, 2014
Utrecht, The Netherlands – February 15, 2014
Buenos Aires, Argentina – March 1, 2014
Jakarta, Indonesia – March 15, 2014
Miami, USA – March 30, 2014

These are only the first five cities to be announced, with more to come in the near future. If you can’t make it to any of the shows, all of them will be broadcasted live. Read beyond the break to find out more information about each stop on the global tour, purchase tickets, listen to the official anthem for this year’s ASOT adventure, and watch the full live broadcast from Utrecht with Armin himself.

The first stop will be in the freezing Yekaterinaburg, Russia on February 1, 2014. It will mark ASOT’s first return to Russia since the ASOT 550 tour landed in Moscow. Russia will also play host to the Winter Olympic Games in 2014, taking place in Sochi.

The second stop announced was Utrecht, in The Netherlands, which, not surprisingly, was met with thunderous applause and cheers from the assembled crowd at the radio broadcast center. ASOT 650 will take place not at Den Bosch, as in previous years, but at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht on February 15th, 2013.

Dennis de Bruin, the event director for the New Horizons tour, explained that the goal of the move from Den Bosch to Utrecht was to utilize “a bigger venue with more space…not to get more people in [or sell more tickets], but to give them more space…to have a great party with the DJs.” There will be 4 different areas as in past years, including a “Who’s Afraid of 138?!” room, which was a “big success” last year. Armin will also be playing a special warm-up set before the main event starts, the tickets for which are now sold out. Tickets to the “biggest dance event on the planet” are on sale (starting on October 5th, 12:00 CET) on the front page of the official A State of Trance website.

Heading to warmer climates, the third stop of the New Horizons tour will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 1, 2014. The celebrations in South America are surely still continuing after the announcement. Luckily for them, the World Cup will also take place in Brazil in 2014.

To the elation of millions, Armin announced that ASOT would finally be landing in Jakarta, Indonesia on March 15, 2014. Although A State of Trance was already trending worldwide, Twitter erupted from all the elated messages and happy fans, who had been waiting for this day for a long time.

The last announced city on the ASOT 650 tour was Miami, USA on March 30, 2014. The tour coincides, of course, with Miami Music Week, and will be the fourth time Armin has brought the ASOT celebrations to Miami.

Stay up to date with the latest news from the official ASOT camp at their Facebook page, and follow their Twitter for updates as tickets for the other cities will go on sale soon. On October 17th, Armin will announce his tour dates for the Armin Only tour, so stay tuned if your city was not announced for ASOT 650. Also, watch out for the next edition of the radio show, where Armin will announce the next cities on the New Horizons tour.

As announced on the live broadcast, here is the official anthem for the ASOT 650 New Horizons tour, as voted by thousands of fans, by Jorn van Deynhoven.
