Good Morning Mix: Pretty Lights’ ‘The Hot Sh*t’ Episode 100
Colorado’s own is back with a diverse episode of “The Hot Sh*t,” and you’d be hard pressed to find a better mix to start your day with. Derek Vincent Smith, the director of the Pretty Lights Music movement and label, brings forth a special episode of his podcast for its 100th edition. The mix is jam-packed with groovy tunes from all of PLM’s artists, starting off with the bass-wobbling “I Know The Truth” produced by Pretty Lights himself before flowing into more soothing tracks such as Supervision and Michal Menert’s “Who Am I,” which any dubstep purist would be happy to hear. This eclectic mix brings listeners on a genre-defying journey that ranges from emotional to nearly overwhelming, but the always incredible sampler manages to make it all synthesize smoothly. Pretty Lights Music producers continue to dominate the midtempo genre, and the label that has continuously defied mainstream temptation has certainly shown its prowess through Derek’s podcast.
