Her latest work is an absorbing take on Rudimental’s recent single “Free,” which features vocals from the lovely Emeli Sandé. In typical MJC fashion, her kick and bass are mixed to a tee, while her percussion is both unique and evolving throughout. Maya makes brilliant work of Sandé’s vocals, looping, chopping, and inserting them at just the right moments. There’s an unparalleled clarity to Maya’s work; it breathes like no other. Her remix of Rudimental’s “Free” will be released on November 18th on the official remix EP.
