With the now effortless availability of DJ and production software, Botnek knows it takes more than sound design knowledge to make it in this business. This duo from Montreal has a track record for quirky and unusual sounds, a characteristic that plays a huge role in their style. With their latest singles “Through the Night” and “I Know” freshly released this summer, it was just a matter of time before Dim Mak Records could muster up some top-notch talent for a remix EP.

Fellow Canadian producers Dabin and Hunter Siegel spearhead “I Know” with individual remixes. Promising rising name Dabin kicks off the EP with a fidget-electro interpretation featuring a complex mix of heavy synths while Hunter Siegel lends a grooving drum kit followed by nasty, raw bass lead to his version. Dubstep giant Hirshee puts a brostep spin on “Through The Night,” contrasting with the Italian duo Dilligas, who manipulates the original vocal stem to create a progression of tight plucks. Lastly, DallasK works his electro magic and utilizes some heavily distorted saws, balancing them with the big room chords of the bridge. Botnek’s I Know / Through The Night (Remixes) EP will be available on November 19th.
