Darren Emerson – Hot Dog (Original Mix + Florian Meindl Remix) [Preview]

If we are talking long-serving and outspoken assets to British dance music, Darren Emerson is an outright luminary. Debuting on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records surprisingly late down the line of his whirlwind career, his retort to remix duties for Paul Rutherford’s “Get Real” makes this delayed first strike all the more forgivable. Breaching a sound scope of industrial techno matched with stirring melodic strikes, “Hotdog” is a breed of underground club fuel as conventional to the modern dance floor as it is indicative of the genre’s modern renaissance. Berlin-based label hopper Florian Meindl joins for fluid and far groovier remix duties, offering another positive angle on this well-polished techno set-piece. At a time where the sound of big room dance music is thought to bow to obnoxious drops and repetitive synth lines, Emerson retorts with one of Bedrock’s finest musical assets of 2013.
