Avicii breaks records for the longest-running No. 1 single on dance music charts

It’s hard to believe that any dance music act could usurp Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” from its status as longest-running No. 1, but it’s no surprise that if anyone could, it would be Avicii. The Le7els frontman’s folk-inspired “Wake Me Up” has topped Billboard’s young but thriving Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a record 14 consecutive weeks – officially surpassing “Get Lucky’s” previously unmatched 13-week rule. Despite a surprising Grammy nomination snub, the Swedish producer has dominated the Dance/Electronic chart with hits from True, including its second single “Hey Brother.” Sitting comfortably in the top 10 along with “Wake Me Up,”  the second True victory marks Tim Bergling’s sixth top 10 tune in less than three years on the Billboard Hot 100.
