EDC New York returns to Met Life Stadium for Memorial Day Weekend 2014

Initial reports hinted at a possible Woodstock 1994 location for Pasquale Rotella’s iconic festival brand but after the owners of the farm felt uncomfortable hosting the event, Electric Daisy Carnival New York found its home back where it began — New Jersey’s Met Life Stadium.

After two years on the East Coast, Insomniac is excited to bring all of the over-the-top production from EDC Vegas to headliners in the Tri-state area. According to Rotella, the decision to move back to Met Life Stadium was an easy one; “We wanted something out of town that could accomodate the crowds — something easy to get to. Met Life Stadium has the right amount of space and it’s near enough to New York to be the perfect option. If something isn’t broken, why fix it?” For some fans, EDC NY’s past two iterations felt like afterthoughts when compared to the unbelievable production and atmosphere of its West Coast counterpart, and Rotella and his team acknowledge that the last two years were just a warm-up for what will soon become the second flagship festival for the EDC brand.

Over the course of two days (May 24th – 25th) of Memorial Day Weekend, EDC NY will invade Met Life stadium and its surrounding properties, bringing along with it Vegas’s massive main stage and owl (with a re-designed backdrop specifically for New York), more carnival rides, more art installations and more performers. Much larger than ever before, there will also be never before seen EDC productions, unique to an event that Rotella himself describes as every bit as “detailed and glamorous as Vegas.”

Tickets go on sale this Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 9am EST.  GA Tickets will follow the tiered-pricing system, starting at $199, then $225 and $234. VIP tickets will run you $299. Single day passes are currently unavailable.
